Nebraska Nut Growers Nut Evaluation
The Nebraska Nut Growers Association annually conducts a Nut Evaluation to increase our knowledge of known nut cultivars and to identify new, high producing, high quality nut trees. Typical species for evaluation include: Black Walnut, Pecan, Hickory, Butternut, Persian Walnut, Hazelnut and Heartnut, but other species will be accepted and evaluated.
To enter your nuts in the evaluation, go to the Nut Evaluation form by clicking the Nut Evaluation Form link at the left, print the form, fill it out, and send it the address on the form. (After printing the form, you may return here by hitting the back button or back arrow on your browser.) It is important to follow the rules to insure your nuts receive a valid evaluation. If you have any questions, click the "Contact Us" link on the top of this page.
Results will be listed in our spring members NeNGA newsletter and on this Web site. The newsletter, which is available to members, goes into more detailed analysis of the year's crop being evaluated and includes a listing of the best tasting nuts for the year.
If you would like to be notified when this Web site is updated, send email to our Webmaster at icomserve@aol.com with the subject "Nebraska Nut Growers Updates." Updates include notification of the availability of evaluation results.
